How rarely do goalkeepers score in the Premier League? Entering this afternoon, of the more than 20,000 goals scored in the league since its 1992 formation, only three had been tallied by EPL keepers.

So if Everton (and U.S. national team) goalkeeper Tim Howard had wanted to celebrate with a little more enthusiasm after making that number four vs. Bolton Wednesday, we doubt anyone would have blamed him:

We'll chalk Howard's apparent indifference up to his acknowledgment of the gusting Merseyside wind's role in his goal -- it's not as if he was trying to score there -- or maybe he knew karma would repay his team for that stroke of good fortune; the Toffees conceded twice in the game's final 25 minutes to lose at home 2-1 to last-place Bolton.

Whatever the final result, though, Howard's unlikely appearance on the scoresheet will remain a point of pride for his American fans--between his tally and Brad Friedel's last-minute strike several years ago for Blackburn, half of those four keepers' goals belong to Americans. U-S-A! U-S-A!

elgecko. So, can you cite the portion of the bill that says "oh yea, message boards, linking infringing content" are immune. That is kind of the entire outrage of the bill. That users--aka, not adminstrators, website authors, etc.--can post "illicit" content that now is cimininalized for the site that hosts it. (Lots of this was previously protected by CDA, section 230, which, I am quite sure your "IT friends" are versed in as well, but hey. They aren't attorneys.) So they surely know.

This is the problem with copyright law. No one seems to get how it works. Do you not realize that if you click this link, and get a huge ad that suffocates your screen, that CBS is getting paid for it? I cannot believe that someone literally said "deal with it, they shouldn't have to secure the rights?" Are you out of your damn mind? If there is ANYONE who can actually secure the rights, it is CBS. Opinions like that make me welcome DRM. Just imagine you took the greatest live-accident footage ever recorded. I mean, literally, mind-blowing. Oh. CBS can host it, since they are cool. No worries about copyright or your profit? Gotcha.

As a former NCAA Division 1 goalie, all I have to say is that was awesome!!!!  I did it once on a shortened field (due to weather conditions) in high school, and it was thrilling....but to see it done in one of the best leagues in the world...wow!!!

Golf7osu- not only are you a tool for making such a big deal out of a minor point, but you have no idea what you're talking about with SOPA. It's a dangerous bill proposed by politicians that can't stand the fact that the internet is outside their control. Nobody in the IT world wants SOPA to pass, yet they are the ones that, according to the politicians, are supposed to benefit from it. You're 0-2 my friend.

You link a video that is copyright protected? Good job, CBS. I can't wait for SOPA and you will be done for. Really. You are a multinational, billion dollar conglomorate, you couldn't pay for the rights for the video? Pathetic.

Jesus christ, would you shut up. It's not that serious.

There's no telling when the video was removed from the site in which it was linked from. Even CNN is using a link from Youtube, and just like this one, it could be gone in the next hour. CBS doesn't cover soccer, aside from the World Cup, so why would they go through the trouble for 1 video? C'mon guy. That's wouldn't be a wise business decesion; maybe that's why the company is worth billions of dollars.
